A short story about vengeful

A short story about vengeful "splatterfaries" In 1997, I read a short story in a fantasy or horror collection - I don't recall 70-642 testking who published or edited the collection. I am trying to locate one of the stories: It was about a detective investigating the abduction and possible molestation/murder of a young girl. The detective eventually "concludes" that this girl was rescued testking cisco from her tormentor by ferries of some sort who rended her abductor into pulp. The only detail I remember was that the girl had drawn a picture on the wall which looked like a crude child’s drawing of an animal, but when the detective looked at it from the angle which would have been the girl's vantage, the picture appeared testking itil as some form of vengeful fairy-like creature - presumably her rescuer(s). Does this ring a bell with anyone?
