Adobe Premiere Rush Review

Adobe Premiere Rush is the newest member of Adobe’s family of video editing applications and designed specifically for social media content creators. Though more simplified and less powerful than Premiere Pro, Adobe Premiere Rush still can handle a range of professional editing tasks with ease.

Adobe’s Project Rush app, now known as Adobe Premiere Rush, is part of Creative Cloud suite as well as mobile-only version for iOS or Android devices. Designed as an all-in-one video editing solution, Premiere Rush aims to meet editors and content creators needs for short video projects by offering features such as creating titles and motion graphics creation, audio/video adjustments, trimming clips for perfect length, basic effects addition and adjustment as well as the ability to adjust opacity levels or add captions or voiceovers for videos.

Like TikTok and iMovie, Premiere Rush uses a magnetic timeline to easily link clips or photos without leaving spaces between. Additionally, there are various options for editing video footage such as cropping, rotating, resizing and cropping the footage – such as cropping, rotating and resizing it – plus some basic effects to quickly create polished videos quickly.

Adobe Premiere Rush stands out as an impressive piece of software due to its ability to import and export project files between devices, which makes editing on mobile phones or at home much simpler. Furthermore, Premiere Rush can automatically adjust volume levels of clips containing voiceovers for social media content that includes them; making this tool an indispensable resource.

Premiere Rush can do much of what a standard video editor can, including more complex color correction and green screen editing tasks. It can import/export files between Adobe applications like Photoshop and After Effects as well. However, Premiere Rush lacks many of the features and is less costly than its more powerful counterpart – no subscription costs for Adobe Creative Cloud necessary.

Adobe Premiere Rush is available free for desktop and mobile devices and requires only an email address to create a free Adobe ID account with 2GB of storage capacity. The Starter plan of Premiere Rush includes access to basic effects, customizable title designs, royalty-free music from Adobe’s stock library as well as export capabilities. Upgrade plans provide access to more advanced Adobe Premiere Rush features.

Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) gives Indiana University faculty and staff access to Premiere Rush as well as video editing tools like After Effects and Audition. We are honored to be an Adobe Distinguished School of Education, so our students have access to only the best software and resources for success. Want to explore CC yourself?
