Comodo also provides paid versions such as Comodo Internet Security Pro with 24/7 technical support and virus warranty coverage; but their free offering still makes an excellent choice as many features can be found there as well.

Depending on the type of virus detected, Comodo Cloud Antivirus may even remove them completely! Comodo Cloud Antivirus boasts several essential features, with auto-sandboxing being one of the key ones. This function runs unknown files in an isolated virtual environment that prevents them from accessing your real file system and registry. Furthermore, this software includes host intrusion prevention system (HIPS), which stops malicious files or programs from accessing critical system folders; though its malware scanner isn’t the best on the market — Avira’s free package offers much higher detection rates.

Comodo Cloud Antivirus offers many useful features, but isn’t the best antivirus software on the market. While its sandboxing and HIPS are excellent, some key features found elsewhere in other programs could prove more advantageous – should those extra features become important to you, consider switching over. Avira stands out from Comodo with its superior malware scanner and comprehensive security options, such as firewall and virtual desktop protection, pop-up blocking capabilities and ability to block sites displaying advertisements. Avira’s program is fast, has unique modern features like KillSwitch (acts as more detailed Task Manager), blocks popups and provides access control lists; plus has an elegant modern design.
